Although this belt buckle was not an item of issue to the Army of Northern Virginia, it had wide distribution in the Western Armies. As a substitute, many Confederate soldiers wore the U.S. waist belt plate, wearing it upside down. This metal, 3 1/4" belt buckle has the letters "C. S." raised across the front. This belt buckle will attach to any belt that accepts a belt buckle. |
