This is one painting of a series of panoramas painted by Captain James Hope of the 2nd Vermont Infantry. This scene shows Confederate dead of General D. H. Hill's division in a sunken road, known forever after as Bloody Lane. Over 2,600 Confederate troops were either killed or wounded defending this position during the midday phase of the battle. This mug is microwave safe, but for lasting beauty, we do not recommend dishwasher use. |
